Each July, design lovers and tastemakers flock to Nantucket for Nantucket by Design Week— a weeklong celebration hosted by the Nantucket Historical Association spotlighting the island’s signature blend of history, coastal charm and elevated interiors. This year, Kassatex was proud to be a contributing vendor for Lilly Pulitzer’s Lilly Summer Cottages at The Nantucket Hotel— two vibrant, print-filled suites decked out in partnership with Benjamin Moore, Lee Jofa and other design world favorites.
Outfitted with customized bedding, bath towels, and robes, the Lilly Cottages offered a fresh take on island living, filled with saturated hues and playful pattern. We caught up with the Senior Creative Director of Brand Marketing at Lilly Pulitzer to get an insider’s look at all things happening during design week— from favorite local stops and style staples to how Lilly channels Nantucket’s timelessness into every summer collection.

Q&A with Lilly Pulitzer
Kassatex: What does the perfect summer day on Nantucket look like through the Lilly Pulitzer lens?
LP: Through the Lilly Pulitzer lens, the perfect summer day on Nantucket starts with a leisurely morning at the Lilly Cottage at The Nantucket Hotel, soaking in the vibrant Benjamin Moore colors, layers of Lilly x Lee Jofa prints, and coastal charm that the island has to offer. A casual morning spent lounging on the deck of one of the two branded cottages is the perfect start to the day, wearing Lilly pj’s and the custom Kassatex x Lilly branded Turkish Velour Robe makes cool mornings cozy.
From there, I love to visit go-to spots like Brant Point Lighthouse for a walk with the kids, head into town and pick up a latte or breakfast at Lemon Press, and stroll the charming cobble stone streets. I always pop into our Lilly store on S. Waters Street and leave with a new striped tee or sweater and tons of white eyelet (Nantucket staples). I love to catch the pink sunset at Galley’s beach and then walk to the water with bare toes in sand and I let the kids jump in in their dinner clothes. Back at the Lilly cottage we tuck into the most wonderful bed linens and dream in print about the next sun-soaked beach day!

Kassatex: Late Night Favs – Ice Cream or Chicken Box?
LP: As for late-night favorites: ICE CREAM! It’s all about the Juice Bar for us, after all, it all started with a juice stand. Love heritage spots like this that add a fun and memorable touch to our family Nantucket nights.
Kassatex: Are there any hidden gems or under-the-radar stops your team always makes time for?
LP: Hidden gems and under-the-radar stops that our team always makes time for include the serene and picturesque Madaket Beach and the quaint village of ‘Sconset. These spots offer a peaceful escape and a chance to discover the island’s lesser-known treasures.

Kassatex: How would you curate a Lilly-approved beach bag for a day at Surfside or Steps Beach?
LP: Too much is, never enough! We pack a lot into our beach tote! Our designs reflect the effortless casual elegance and coastal charm, shells, stripes and washed down reds and corals that Nantucket embodies.
