We’re closing out summer with one last East Coast beach town escape. Just a short ferry ride from the mainland, Block Island feels like a world away with its windswept bluffs, sandy coves, and laid-back charm. It’s the kind of place where afternoons are spent biking from beach to beach, evenings end with lobster rolls and frozen mudslides, and time slows down just enough to savor those final golden hours of the season. Block Island is the perfect backdrop for a final summer getaway.

Where to Drink
The Oar– Block Island’s most iconic bar. Frozen mudslides are a rite of passage, best enjoyed with views of Great Salt Pond and the walls lined with decorated oars.
Dock Bar at Champlin’s– Another legendary mudslide stop. Try their banana version and sip it right on the dock as boats glide into the marina.
Captain Nick’s– The late-night spot for live music and dancing, where the energy keeps going long after sunset./p>
